My first group show as an MFA candidate is finally here. It features the above work, which I've been adjusting and tweaking and revisioning for the last month or so. South of Detroit opens at LeBel Gallery on January 7 and runs until January 18. The reception is on January 15 at 7pm, see you there!

Last night, in the cold, "Ava Aves" was screened on the 37.2 square meter Elquid Media screen mounted on the Canada building in downtown Windsor.
It was extremely exciting, and unreal to see our work towering in the sky.

We spent the weekend participating in the 48 Hour Flick Fest with our good friend, Norris Wong. He took the photo out front and this nice one above.
Our film, "Ava Aves," will be available on here soon and will (hopefully) be was screened on Saturday at the AGW. Keep your fingers crossed, it could be very exciting if we win.
Update: We won "Best Cinematographer," and we were the 2nd Place Finalist overall. There will be a DVD avilable in Windsor to rent/buy and our film will potentially be shown on the huge LCD screen attached to the Canada Building in downtown Windsor - more on this when we know more.
I'll get some photos up of making the film and our little trophy momentarily...
Watch "Ava Aves" !!!

October is upon us along with some gorgeous cooler weather. The leaves must be moments away from changing and gently falling; I can't wait.
I've been working on some new video pieces, which I think will eventually become a series of algorithmic videos (I have yet to find an appropriate framework to look at them). The process will involve predetermined durations and rules for recording and editing. Though they will likely all be heavily processed at the image above has been.
Other works are coming to light, though I'm having a difficult time deciding how to begin to step over some technical hurdles, but the ideas are becoming more appropriately framed the more I talk about them, which is exciting.
I'll make some more technical notes as I go along, perhaps some screenshots for anyone wondering about the inner-workings of my limited programming skills with Max/MSP/Jitter. I spent the weekend with Processing and for a few moments Quartz Composer, all these tools seem to have immediate elements that could solve my problems, but it's my lack of depth of knowledge of any of these that are limiting my progress with the new project.
Danielle is silly busy with her workload, but she is wonderfully excited about it all ... I believe she has plans to make some art this weekend.
Video works ahead as the new TLA album nears completion as well as hopefully some other artists and an exciting project with our dear friend, Dylan Pearce.

I thought it might be fun to try uploading some photos to Jones Soda in hopes of one day seeing one my photos on a pop/soda bottle.
I'm posting the labels below, you can vote for them by clicking on them. Voting is fun and it might help one of these photos make the cut.
Also, we're moving in a few days. I think we should do some type of photo tour once we're settled.
