»Surveillance

Surveillance is something that is put in place covertly posing as a tool of safety and prevention, which in actuality acts as a tool of subordination towards women.

As women we have "rape whistles" the same tool used to call offside in sports to keep us protected, we are suppose to look under our cars when entering a dark seedy parking garage and finally we are taught to yell "fire" instead of "rape" becuase a person is more likely to respond to that then to "rape"
When dissected these are all acts that are in actuality demeaning. The reason they are demeaning in their physicality as well as being taught to us because we are told as women we are prey and no situation is ever safe.
Surveillance cameas are one technology that help reinforce this cultivated fear. We enter a stiuation usually a parking garage or lot- upon seeing those cameras there is a reinforcement of our dormant xenophobia

By keeping us in a constant state of fear we are less likely to reach our full potential as women.

I really doubt there are as many "sickos" as the popular disgused maternal catchphrase wants us to believe
