The last few weeks have been busy, easing into my studio a bit more, working on some papers, scholarships, and art. I've been working heavily in video, and a little bit in what will likely become netart. I've also become a board member at Artcite, an artist-run centre here in Windsor. There is also an old Polaroid camera on my desk, waiting to be filled with expensive film. Other exciting things include taking apart my MacBook yesterday to try to solve the ongoing Bluetooth problem I've been having - so far so good - but my DVD drive is very sick and my battery is going to off without any warning, not unlike a sulking teenager.
My interest in somehow using my 35mm lenses on any video camera has led me to try an awkward attempt at shooting through the viewfinder on my DSLR with my little Canon zr80. The results looked quite interesting on the LCD screen, though I think my technique has much room for improvement.
The netart piece I mentioned above is going to require some fancy PEAR library, which I have yet to figure out how to install. Once I do figure it out though, I'll have a pretty good start on what could be an interesting piece.
Other things I'm currently engaging with include: "The Death and Life of Great American Cities", "Legends of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass", a Peleng 8mm fisheye lens.
It's a restless Sunday.
