Climatically speaking, summer has officially begun. The last few days have sat around 30ish degrees Celsius, though thankfully, there's been little humidity.
The week has been incredibly busy with work, and though I'm exhausted, tomorrow is Friday and I have the entire weekend to look forward to - reading and thinking. I've treated myself to a pile of new books, trying to wrap my head around the bits and pieces of what I think I know about interactive art (and art altogether) and making it all fit into a little booklet, reserved for jotted ideas and terrible diagrams.
I hope to find some time for photography again soon as well, it's been a couple weeks since I've ventured out. Although, I also think I need to find a new locale to shoot. The summer is so green, it's difficult to avoid (or to compliment) the colour out here.
The new model for the Green Corridor was finished and found its first public audience on Monday night at a city council meeting in Windsor. It looks amazing, and inspiring, and all I can hope now is that it's eventually put into practice. I think it will, or parts of it at least. It's a large concept, and of course there will be changes and adjustments and deletions and additions, but as long as we (the city, this province, this country, et al) can move forward to a sustainable and prettier future, I'm happy. It seems everyday I run into someone I've never met or haven't spoken to in ages who also feel this large rumbling shift happening in social responsibility and overall "green" sentiments. It's good.
Graduation officially happened, Danielle and I are both graduates of the University of Windsor, though not escaping its grasp just yet.
